An old Yarn

Whilst finally getting around to organising the area of my home that has been turned into IKD world, I found some gorgeous Yarn that I bought AGES ago... and decided its about time I did something with it. So a purple pinny dress it is for my little miss.
Cant wait to be able to share the finished product!  Now to find the camera....

Your help needed

I am sending this little request out the world, in the hope that someone may be able to help me! I have recently fallen in love with bamboo cotton! It is so soft, washes so well, and is lovely nad warm for these chilly days and nights... but where can I get my hands on some???
Someone please help me!!!!!

New Laws = Car Seats and Cars

I dont know how many you faced the challenges I did when these new car seat laws came into place. With a almost 7 year old, a 2 year old and a newborn, we faced the glorious task of trying to find car seats that would fit in the back seat of our car!
After looking, looking, window shopping, looking and some more looking (about a months worht of looking in total) we finally made the decision... Mothers Choice seat for Miss M, Cushion booster for Miss E and the maxi rider for Master F. These were the smallest and safest options.  However.... This came with issues within itself!  Miss E was left with next to no room, and with Miss M would soon be turned around in her seat which would leave NO room!
So we have recently had to succumb to buying a new car, which was also a struggle to find one that all 3 children would fit in to the back of nicely! And the more we looked, the more we realised how small vehicles seem to have become, and how big all our 'accessories' have become!
To fit all our essentials into a car, we needed a truck! (you know how it is, 3 kids, car seats, pram, nappy bag, and in our casea lot of the time porta-cot!. Not to mention room for travelling which we do regularly!)
So truck we got! On a smaller scale of course! Toyota Prado was our truck of choice, and I have rapidly been converted into a truck lover!!!
All 3 kids AND seats in the back, HEAPS of leg room (great for stashing those extra bits into), and I can fot the pram and a bike in the back!!!!!!
And so many awesome features!! (some uneccesary ones as well, but still very cool to own! - seriously, who has sat there and wished they had headlight washers???) 
But I do love my reversing camera!!!! Reversing has never been my strong point but this makes it so easy! I love it!
For those of you that need to make changes with the new restraint laws, take a look at the mothers choice car seats for smaller children - they make a range suitable for smaller cars. They dont compromise on 'child' room, just have less bulk on the outer. And I really couldnt go past the Maxi Rider for the bigger kids, it has all the safety features to last them a lifetime!
And if you need to upgrade your car - take a tape measure and measure the back seat so you have some comparison from your old car, but remember to bear in mind the shape of the seats - some are moulded which means less room once you put seats in!

ARGH Teeth! but 'oooh, MJ's.

On my latest fabric shopping spree I found the most gorgeous items for what will (one day) be limited edition Pippi Pockets! I have been trying for a week now to find the time to get these made, but little Miss M has decided to try and cut her first tooth, ARGH is all I can say! It has not been a fun few days... you know the kind, constant crying, no sleep unless she is in my arms - so no chance of accomplishing any new tasks! Add to that a very busy 2 year old boy, a lovely little 7 year old with HOMEWORK, and the a lovely Poppy who came to visit, and, as you can see, there truly isnt enough time in the day!
BUT - while nursing Miss M for the last 5 days and watching 'Pop' trying to catch frogs in between the James Bond ad breaks, I have realised that I can knit the most gorgeous little Mary Janes!! (I have also realised that laughter truly is the best cure for everything!)
So in light of that fact, I am a little excited!

Cant wait to share them with you, have a little red pair in the works at the minute, and then will do a purple pair to match the little dress that is also in the works!!

Loving a long weekend....

3 days of sewing! I am loving this long weekend as it means that my husband is home to play with my brood and I can get busy sewing! I am currently preparing some items for our IKD - Mumma's got style range, and playing with lots of new fabrics and ideas in preparation for the Canberra Markets coming up in a few weeks! How exciting!
I have some super soft blankets on the way, some messy flower headbands, some gorgeous ribbon headbands (much thanks to my teenage sister for the idea! I was mortified to know that she is paying $30 for one!) and hopefully, fingers crossed, a few little IKD outfits!!!!!

What a busy night, It was great to wake up this morning to so many orders, so today will be spent making many a hair clip and so many gorgeous Tutu's - complete with wand I must add! what a great way to spend a friday.
I am thinking of making some sleep sacks if anyone would be interested in those, especially with the cooler temps coming our way, I sleep much better knowing that it doesnt really matter if my kids kick their blankets off! Rain and Hair clips

How lovely is all the rain we have been getting! I have been super busy making lots of gorgeous hair bands and hair clips, hair clip holders, fairy wands and fairy skirts! Just trying to get the stupid card on the camera to work so i can upload some new photos! VERY glad to finally have my fingers unstuck after my 1st attempt at using the hot glue gun!
